BUSH AND SHRUB PLANTING IN ELKHART

Dress for the job you want, not for the job you are interviewing for. Everybody has heard that one. It's good advice looking for a job but is also applies to those who aspire to have a spectacular garden and yard. Planting a bush is a pretty simple job, but for an expert gardener, just dropping a new bush into a hole isn't fully doing the job. In fact, anyone who plants a tree or bush just anywhere in a yard or garden isn't doing his job, at least not to the full benefit of the homeowner.

Before anyone plants a tree or bush hey should give thought and vision of the end results they want to achieve with that planting. For example, did you ever give thought to what a given tree or bush will look like or do when it is mature? If not, you are doing yourself a serious disservice, not to mention seriously shortchanging yourself for what you could have as an end result of your garden or yard.

Bush/shrub planting should be preceded by a plan. That's the way Elkhart Lawn Care does tree planting services Elkhart IN. Before we plant a tree or bush we know the potential for that plant. As a result, we know that a tree that could end up being a problem for a home or other support structures such as plumbing are not planted close to these items. This also works as a good planning tool when you decide you want to plant a hedge or some other decorative addition to your yard. It is only after you plan for how a tree or bush will look and what functions it will serve to accomplish that you should plant it.

How to plant a tree

Another aspect of planting a tree is accomplished prior to the final planting. Before a root ball ever enters the ground it should be preceded by adequate preparation of the soil, which includes digging a hole that is big enough to take the entire root. There should also be an adequate amount of soil or other material such as peat in the hole. If the tree or bush does not have a root ball, the roots should be spread out so that the roots sit atop the mound of soil, peat or other material that is selected to serve as a base. Some planters like to use water at this point, prior to filling in the remainder of the hole, which often serves to start the roots, but this is often a matter of personal preference.

Regardless of when water is added before the final layer of soil, it should be added after the job is finished. This gives the plant a good start before you send it off for a healthy life as a focal point in your yard or garden. Good health is a great way to start a life, and it's also a good way to start a plant on a future of good looks for your landscaping.
